40 million dollar facility to feature superior integrated rehabilitation experience in a luxurious, boutique hotel-like setting

Riviera Health Resort, a state-of-the-art facility combining post-acute and rehabilitation services within a luxury boutique-hotel environment, is poised to redefine the way healthcare is delivered to the South Florida community. Located in the heart of Coral Gables on the corner of Yumuri Street and Sunset Drive, the luxurious 223-bed facility is slated to open in May 2012.
Featuring an array of complex care services, Riviera Health Resort caters to the needs of guests that require short and long term care as they transition from the hospital to their home, with a particular emphasis on post-stroke and hip and knee replacement recovery.
While the facility is a health resort of the new millennium, its location has a long legacy of providing care. Coral Gables’ first true nursing home had been located on the same site since 1952. Building on that legacy, Rivera Health Resort affords unparalleled care, within the intimate feel and gracious hospitality of a boutique hotel.

The newly-built, five-story Mediterranean-style building boasts elegantly-furnished interiors and suites featuring delightful views, beautiful Venetian plaster walls and porcelain floors that gracefully off-set the mahogany wood furniture and accents.
Furnished with the latest computerized HUR rehabilitation technology and equipment, Riviera Health Resort’s multi-faceted team of trained specialists assist guests in expediting their recovery process and restoring function.

It will provide guests an intensive, highly-focused program of integrated therapy, including physical, occupational, speech and respiratory therapy; neuropsychology with cognitive therapy; IV therapy; wound care; cardiac recovery; sports medicine rehabilitation and more.

“Our team takes great pride in offering a new paradigm for integrated rehabilitation,” said Richard Stacey, CEO of Riviera Health Resort. “Offering this level of clinical excellence, within what is genuinely a one-of-a-kind setting, will redefine how skilled nursing and rehabilitation is provided to our community.”

The post-acute care and rehabilitation offerings are designed for individuals who have experienced a recent injury, illness, procedure – such as joint replacement – or suffered an impairment.

Services will also include functional assessments, physical therapy, audiology, vestibular rehabilitation, back/spine programs, women’s specialized wellness, post-joint replacement programs, sports medicine rehabilitation and numerous others.
As nutrition is an essential element of the healing process, Riviera Health Resort’s specialized plan includes a holistic team of inter-professionals, including licensed nutritionists who are dedicated to offering exceptional, healthy cuisine with a menu that adapts to the individual dietary programs.
Recreational activities such as a state-of-the art fitness and rehabilitation center, along with amenities such as a beauty salon, activity rooms and special events, help ensure each stay is comfortable and pleasant, while inspiring recuperation.
“We will have the capabilities to meet an extremely broad scope of nursing and rehabilitation needs, with a focus on truly personalized programs,” added Dr. Ismael Roque-Velasco, Chief Administrative Officer of the facility. ”The latest in rehabilitation services and the most advanced technology, coupled with attentive service and five-star amenities, provides the ideal healthcare approach to getting our guests back on their feet.”
